Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)

Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan’s state-funded preschool program for four-year-old children. The program is provided by the Michigan Department of Education and is administered by Macomb County. The program is designed to offer high-quality preschool to get your child ready for kindergarten.
The program is free and income level will be the primary factor needed for determining eligibility and prioritization for enrollment of children who live in families at or below 250% Federal Poverty Level.

 

Michigan's Nationally Recognized Free Pre-K

Age Requirement: Must be age 4 on or before September 1st, with waivers available for children who turn 4 before December 1st.
 
Documentation Needed for Application Process:
  • Birth Certificate
  • Proof of Income
  • Copy of Parent/Guardian ID
  • Completed Child Application Form
  • Physical & Shot Record
  • Proof of Disability (if applicable)
Families will also be interviewed to determine other risk factors.
